A Brief Biography

About the writer

A small atelier of letters and strategy — and the woman behind it.

My work began fresh out of college in 2022, when Music to Life asked me to assist with their grant research. What started as research quickly became something larger: the craft of translating a mission into language that funders trust, and the discipline of learning what makes a proposal worth saying yes to later on.

That work led me to a startup called MELD, where I worked closely with Katie McCormick, former Press Secretary to First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House. Together we built much of the language MELD needed to define itself and to speak to future funders; the words that turn a young company's vision into something an investor or partner can believe in.

The pen is, and remains, my instrument of choice. Every engagement, whatever its form, comes down to the same thing: finding the right words for the work that deserves them.

Today, I work with nonprofits and small businesses who believe their work deserves more than a templated effort.

A grant proposal is, at its truest, a love letter — to a mission, to a community, to a possibility that has not yet been afforded the right words.

Meet the editor

Managing Editor
Managing Editor

An editor who couldn’t stop noticing how language worked.

My path to editing started where most good editors begin: as a reader who couldn’t stop noticing how language worked. I earned my degree in English from the University of Florida, graduating with a 3.93 GPA, and immersed myself in the discipline beyond the classroom, as a member of the UF English Honor Society and a presenter of original research at undergraduate conferences.

I began editing professionally in 2022, and in 2025 I stepped into the role of Managing Editor at Onnis Writing Services. There, I oversee the full editorial lifecycle: setting standards, coordinating projects, and working line by line to ensure every piece is clear, accurate, and true to its author’s intent.

I believe the best editing is invisible. It doesn’t impose, it elevates. My job is to make good writing better, and to make sure the right words land exactly where they belong.

A Note on Philosophy

The way we work

i.

Selectively

We take on a small number of clients each season. The work is too important — and too dependent on real attention — to spread thinly.

ii.

Personally

Every word is written by us. No junior writers, no AI drafts dressed up as final copy. You hire the writer; you receive the writer.

iii.

Patiently

A proposal worth funding takes time. We won't be rushed into a draft that will fail you, and we don't accept work that we cannot do well.
